Welcome to the Oklahoma Baptist Youth Camp
At the Oklahoma Baptist Youth Camp, our mission is to build young people up on a more sure and Biblical foundation, to maintain an emphasis on quality Bible preaching, to operate on a Biblically motivated structure that creates an atmosphere of spiritual growth, and to maintain a kindred Spirit of grace and unity among all who attend.
We would love to host your ministry at our camp this summer. If you have any questions that are not answered on this page, feel free to contact our camp director, Tim Russell. His email address is email@example.com.

Senior Camp | Dean Herring
Pastor Dean was born in the pristine, southern city of Savannah, Georgia. He trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of 12 at a Bobby Richardson Crusade, and at the age of 17 he surrendered his life to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He met his wife, Mrs. Susie, while at Bible College and were married on August 9, 1975. God has blessed them with six children: Jason, Dixie, Tara, Georgia, Nathan, and Jonathan.
After graduation, the Herrings spent the next 30 years ministering in South Georgia. During that time, Dean spent 8 years as a youth minister, 2 years in evangelism, and 20 years as a pastor. He has had the privilege of preaching numerous youth camps and family/marriage conferences, along with preaching several revivals and missions conferences across America each year.
After a visit to the Treasure Valley, God began to impress upon the hearts of the Herring Family that He wanted them to move to the area and plant a historic Baptist church. In November of 2005, they bid farewell to their friends and loved ones, and moved to Idaho to begin the work that God had led them to do. On the second Sunday of February, 2006, the South Valley Baptist Church had its first service with 43 present, and 6 people accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Junior Camp | Joe Decker Jr.
Bro. Joe Decker Jr. was born in Bowling Green, KY. He grew up for nearly four years in Scottsville, KY, where his dad was Pastor of the Berean Baptist Church. In 1983, the family moved to Bowling Green, and his dad became the Assistant Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church. The following year, Bro. Decker was saved under the ministry of Bro. Marvin Carson. At the age of twelve, he surrendered to preach during a Missions Conference.
After graduating high school, he enrolled at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. Only a few weeks after arriving in Springfield, God led him to join the South Campbell Ave. Baptist Church, where he has remained until the present. Under Bro. Oran Cobb, he started his work in the Church by going out on visitation and singing, both in the choir and special music. Later he became the Director of Children’s Ministries before becoming the Youth Director. During this time, he met and married his wife, Alissa.
After just over a year of working with the youth, the Church hired Bro. Decker to the full-time position of Associate Pastor. Less than one month later, Bro. Cobb retired and Bro. Decker was called by the Church to become their next pastor.
The Lord has blessed the Decker’s with three wonderful children: Cassie Nicole, Alayna Grace, and Joe Decker III (Trey).
