Welcome to the Oklahoma Baptist Youth Camp

At the Oklahoma Baptist Youth Camp, our mission is to build young people up on a more sure and Biblical foundation, to maintain an emphasis on quality Bible preaching, to operate on a Biblically motivated structure that creates an atmosphere of spiritual growth, and to maintain a kindred Spirit of grace and unity among all who attend.

We would love to host your ministry at our camp this summer. If you have any questions that are not answered on this page, feel free to contact our camp director, Tim Russell. His email address is tim.russell@cbcponca.org.

Senior Camp | Kurt Copeland

Kurt was born in Pekin, IL on February 23, 1971. Kurt trusted in Christ as his personal Savior as a bus kid on January 11, 1982 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mattoon, IL. While working as a Ranch Hand at the Bill Rice Ranch during the summer of 1986, Kurt surrendered to full time Christian service. Kurt enrolled at Pensacola Christian College for the fall of 1989 majoring in Missions. After graduation, in December 1993, Kurt and Christy (Payne) (also from Murfreesboro, TN area) were married on January 1, 1994 and went on to answer the call to return to Franklin Road Baptist Church as Youth Pastor. After nearly 28 years of serving in youth work together, Kurt & Christy turned in their resignation from Franklin Road in January of 2020 and feel God’s call to continue to reach families for Christ through evangelism.  God continues to bless in amazing ways as they continue to yield themselves to God’s will.

Junior Camp | Addison Smith

Addison Smith and his family are church planters in the beautiful city of Grants Pass, OR. A native of Medford, OR, Addison was saved at the age of five and called to preach a couple of years later. After experiencing a period of doubt during his high school years, he was reassured of the truth and attended West Coast Baptist College where he met his wife Kendra. The couple have been married for several years and have four young boys. Addison served on the pastoral staff at Harvest Baptist Temple in Medford for almost five years, before launching Grants Pass Baptist Church in October 2020. The Smiths have been blessed to see God perform great and marvelous things.
